UPCOMING ROAD WORKS - FRANK WEBB AVENUE - MONDAY/TUESDAY

I have been calling for improvements to the maintenance of the large trees that line Frank Webb Avenue for some time now.

I am pleased to advise that there will be work on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th November to enable tree clearing for street light improvements.

If any residents have any further queries or concerns about trees near their properties, please call 0300 123 5020 to discuss.

BLACK BIN CHANGES CONSULTATION - UPDATE!

Thank you to everyone who responded to my call for residents in St Barnabas to provide feedback to the Cheshire East consultation on the proposal from the council to cut black bin collections from every two weeks to every 3 weeks.

Of the 6,257 respondents, 84% opposed the proposal for three-weekly black bin collections.

"The Research and Consultation Team recommend that the details within this report are thoroughly reviewed and considered before finalising the preferred option / recommendation.

If implemented, it will be beneficial to continually engage with the community to ensure any negative impacts are limited."

Thank you to all who shared their feedback, for now we will have to wait for further details on any future decisions.

A full report is published here.

FOULKES AVENUE - POTHOLE REPAIRS COMPLETED

I have been pushing for some time to get many areas around our roads fixed, with the limited budget available at present.

Much work has been carried out recently, including Foulkes Avenue which no longer resembles the surface of the moon!  The area around Foulkes Avenue/Smith Grove has been resurfaced.

As we head into winter, with  wet and freezing weather the potholes will become a problem again.

LETS GET THEM FIXED! Please report any potholes you see by calling 0300 123 5020, via fixmystreet app or online:

https://www.crewestbarnabas.org.uk/report-an-issue/

KEEPING OUR STREETS LIT!

Now that the evenings are getting darker earlier I've noticed a few street lights which are not working as they should be.

I've requested repairs to several street light columns in our area.

If you spot a street light near you that is not working, please call 0300 123 5020 or report it online:

https://fixmystreet.cheshireeast.gov.uk/

LEAF CLEARANCE REQUEST

Autumn is certainly upon us!  I've put in a request to Cheshire East / ANSA to ask for a a sweep of the fallen leaves on Frank Webb Avenue, Kettell Avenue and Badger Avenue from the road and footpaths.

The team did a great job on this last year.

I will also chased up my previous request for pruning of the trees near the street lights to ensure the lights are kept clear to work properly and as mentioned earlier this work is happening next week.

Any resident who has any concerns over the trees near their property should call 0300 123 5020 to discuss.

FLYTIPPING REPORTED FOR CLEAN UP!   CAN YOU HELP?

I've been out and about around St Barnabas and reported 11 instances of fly tipping for investigation and clean up.

Also, requests have been made for repairs to two alley gates linked to the fly tipping areas.

If you spot flytipping, please call 0300 123 5011 to request a clean up, or report it online.

That's it for now but there are many more updates on local issues and upcoming events on my Facebook and Instagram so please do follow them as I can't fit everything on the email newsletter.

If you have something you'd like me to look in to please do get in contact.
