WORKING FOR OUR AREA, IN OUR AREA

It's been another busy week out and about in St Barnabas.  It was great to speak to so many fellow residents about issues important to you.

In the last week whilst out on our streets I've worked to address over 108 issues, including:

💩 33 Fly tipping reports

🚧 10 Potholes

👣 4 Pavement issues

🗑️ 5 Litter and bin issues

Let's keep working together to make Crewe St Barnabas even BETTER! 😎👌

If there's an issue you've seen, let's get it reported and sorted!

⚽ LEIGHTON BROOK PARK FOOTBALL EVENT - THANK YOU ⚽

A massive congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in our recent football event at Leighton Brook Park  👏

I am so proud of the young people from our area who took part, every one of you played an excellent game and your conduct on the pitch was superb. 🏆

Thank you to Crewe Alexandra in the Community for their expertise in hosting the event, to Kenny and Andy from The Guinness Partnership for their work helping to bring the event together, and to Morrisons Crewe for kindly providing refreshments.

Thank you also to everyone who came along to support the teams playing.

📢 Please keep an eye on my Facebook Page for details of more free events this summer!

PATROL PATROL UPDATE - WORKING TO GET THEM FIXED!

When I am out in our area talking to residents, normally the first topic to come up is potholes!

I've been working really hard to push for them to be repaired, and as many of you will have noticed I continually walk our area to report potholes on our roads.

The map shows the last 50 potholes I have reported, and the last 50 that have been fixed.  In total I've reported 259 potholes since I was elected in May 2023! (and more before that!)

I know we need further and more substantial repairs to the roads in our area, and I will continue to push for this - although being realistic the budgets available are very tight so I will make best use of whatever is available to me for the benefit of all residents.

If you spot a pothole that I've not seen, you can report online

KEEPING OUR ROADS SAFE

Thank you to PCSO Jolley for conducting another recent speed check on Frank Webb Avenue.

You may have noticed the new 'Playground' signs I had installed on this section of road to make drivers more aware of children and parents crossing to the nearby playground. I want to ensure the roads in our communities are safe for all residents.

Please keep to the speed limit and be aware of your surroundings and other road users.

You can report any local concerns directly to Crewe St Barnabas Police by calling 101 or fill in the Residents Survey using this link.

COMMUNITY SPEED WATCH CAN YOU HELP?

We are currently looking for volunteers for our Community Speedwatch scheme, where local residents can help keep an eye on our streets.

If you would like more information, or would like to attend a training session, please email PSCO Lorraine Meggs at Lorraine.Meggs@cheshire.police.uk

🗑️ MISSED BIN COLLECTIONS - HOW TO REPORT THEM 🗑️

I recently noticed a large number of recycling bins from West Street that had not been emptied and were still at their collection point at the top of Bowen Cooke Avenue.

I raised this issue and was advised that the refuse vehicle could not access the location due to it being blocked by parked cars, with two unsuccessful attempts to collect that day.  I've requested a return visit to collect these bins. ✅

🗑️ If you have a missed bin collection, please report it within 2 days.

You can do this online:

PARKING PATROL

Following recent concerns about parking, our local officers have been out in our area.

A Fixed Penalty Notice has been issued to this vehicle seen causing an obstruction by parking within 10 metres of the junction.

Please be considerate as to where you park.

Keep pavements clear for those who use them including pushchairs and mobility scooters to easily pass.

Please do not park within 10 metres of a junction as it can dangerously block the view for other vehicles.

Please be mindful where you park, you could save yourself the cost of a ticket!

LITTER PICKING GROUP!  WE NEED YOUR HELP

Could you help with our next litter pick?

Do you want to make our area a better and cleaner place to live?  Could you spare an hour to help?

Find out about our litter picking group

If you are interested in joining us, please reply to this email.  We have previously met on Sunday mornings - I'd like to know if this is the best time for residents, and also what areas you would like to tackle.

Can you help?

When is the best time?

Where shall we go?

Please reply to this email or let me know online.

That's it for now but there are many more updates on local issues and upcoming events on my Facebook and Instagram so please do follow them as I can't fit everything on the email newsletter.

If you have something you'd like me to look in to please do get in contact.
